Privacy Policy — SwitchMate

    The short version: everything you type, and everything the
    word predictor learns about you, stays on your device. It is never uploaded,
    never shared, and we cannot see it. We collect only general, anonymous usage
    statistics so we can improve SwitchMate and reach more people who need it —
    and you can turn even that off.
  

1. What stays on your device (always)

Everything you type or speak with the keyboard.
Personal word prediction. The predictor learns your words and phrases to give better suggestions. This learning lives only in your browser's local storage. It is never transmitted anywhere, and clearing your browser data erases it.
Settings (scan speed, dark mode, etc.) and saved Game Maker favorites.

2. General usage statistics (optional)

To understand which tools help people most and to get SwitchMate in front of more families, teachers, and therapists who need it, we use general tracking tools:

Google Analytics on the home page (standard cookies, page views, approximate location, device type).
Our own page-view counter (page name, a random session id, browser type, screen size, referring page, timestamp).
Game Maker popularity events (which generated games get played and loved — game seed numbers only, no personal content).

You can turn all of this off: open the keyboard, tap the 🛠 caregiver button, and switch 📊 Anonymous usage stats to OFF. The choice is remembered on that device.

3. Optional Google sign-in

Signing in is never required. If you choose to sign in with Google (to sync settings across devices or send feedback), we store: your Google account id, your preferences, and a timestamp — in Google Firebase. If you send feedback, we store the name, email, and message you provide. Nothing else.

4. What we never do

No selling, renting, or sharing personal data with third parties for marketing.
No ads, ever.
No reading of typed content — technically impossible for us; it never leaves the device.

5. Children

SwitchMate is used by people of all ages, including children, often with a parent, teacher, or therapist. It works fully without any account or sign-in, and usage statistics can be disabled as described above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; the sign-in and feedback features are intended for adults.

6. Service providers

We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, hosting of sign-in) and Google Analytics. Their processing is governed by Google's own privacy terms. Payment support (pay-what-you-want) is handled entirely by Stripe; we never see your card details.

7. Data deletion

To delete your synced settings, feedback messages, or any data connected to your Google sign-in, email support@bestpolity.com from the address you signed in with, and we will remove it. On-device data (typing, predictions, settings) can be erased anytime by clearing your browser's site data — we never had a copy.
